The READI Method
Responsible AI adoption that leaves no one behind. A plain-English, SME-sized way to take your business from idea to adoption that actually sticks, in five stages.
Most AI advice is either too technical for a non-technical business, or too vague to act on. The READI Method is the structure I use to bridge that gap. It combines what works in agile delivery and change management with responsible-AI practice, and keeps inclusion at the centre throughout.
It is modular by design. Each stage is also a workshop module, a section of my advisory work, and a dimension of the readiness assessment, so wherever you start, the pieces fit together.
- R
Ready the people
Start with purpose and people, not tools. Get clear on what you are trying to achieve and, crucially, who is affected, including the team members who will be expected to use it.
- E
Examine ethics & risk
Look at PDPA, bias, transparency, and governance, sized for an SME rather than a bank. Understand the real risks before you commit, not after something goes wrong.
- A
Act small
Run a low-risk pilot with a clear success measure. Small enough to learn from, contained enough that a mistake is cheap, specific enough to know whether it worked.
- D
Deliver inclusively
Bring the whole team along, not just the keen few. Adoption that sticks depends on the people who are least confident, so the rollout is designed around them.
- I
Improve & include
Measure, refine, and sustain governance, then loop back. Responsible AI is not a one-off project. It is a habit you build and keep, with inclusion checked at every turn.
